What is Tableau Show me?
beginnerAnswer
Show Me is the panel in the top right that suggests chart types based on the fields you currently have selected or in the view.
Hovering over each option tells you what it requires — *one date and one measure*, *three or more measures*, and so on. Options that your field selection cannot satisfy are greyed out, which makes it a useful way to learn what each chart needs.
Clicking a suggestion rearranges the fields onto the appropriate shelves and sets the mark type. It is a shortcut, not a separate mode — you can adjust everything afterwards.
The caveat worth adding in an interview: it optimises for what is possible, not for what communicates best. It will happily offer a pie chart with fifteen slices.
