Privacy policy

PassingBI ("we", "the site") provides free learning material for business
intelligence tools. This policy explains what data is collected, why, and what
you can do about it.

## The short version

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email
address or payment details. The only data collected is anonymous usage
statistics and whatever Google's advertising system records, and both are
switched off until you consent.

## What is collected

Analytics. With your consent, Google Analytics records which pages are
visited, roughly where visitors are (country or city level), what device and
browser they use, and how they arrived. It is aggregated — we can see that a
lesson was read four hundred times, not who read it.

Advertising. With your consent, Google AdSense may set cookies to
personalise the ads shown. Reject this and you still see ads, but they are based
on the page content rather than on you.

Preferences. Your theme choice (dark or light) and your cookie decision are
stored in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device and are not
sent to us.

Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard access logs — IP address,
timestamp, page requested — as every web server does. These are used for
security and diagnosing faults.

## What is not collected

• No accounts, so no names, emails or passwords
• No payment data; nothing is for sale
• No quiz or exam results — those are computed in your browser and never transmitted
• Nothing is sold or shared with anyone beyond the processors named below

## Legal basis

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we rely on consent for analytics and
advertising cookies, which is why nothing is set until you choose. We rely on
legitimate interests for security logging and for the strictly necessary
storage that makes the site function.

## Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete
or export your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent
at any time.

Because we hold no account data, in practice most requests are satisfied by:

• Withdrawing consent — use the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer
• Clearing your browser storage, which removes everything we keep on your device
• Google's own controls at myaccount.google.com/data-and-privacy, since Google is the processor for analytics and ads

Under the CCPA, California residents have the right to know what is collected
and to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. Rejecting
non-essential cookies exercises that opt-out on this site.

## Third parties

Google may process data outside your country. Where personal data leaves the UK
or EEA, Google relies on Standard Contractual Clauses and its Data Privacy
Framework certification.

## Retention

Analytics data is retained by Google for the period set in our account,
currently the default. Consent choices expire after 12 months, after which
you will be asked again. Server logs are kept per our host's retention policy.

## Children

The site is aimed at working adults and jobseekers. It is not directed at
children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

## Changes

Material changes will be reflected here with a new date at the top. Where a
change affects how consent works, the banner will reappear so you can decide
again.
